Your community newspaper brought to life.
Good Morning SLO is our platform for sharing ideas, news and inspiration. A monthly program that brings community leaders, business owners, nonprofit executives and staffers together, and enables us to reconnect, engage and learn from each other.
Our goal is to provide insight into business, community and legislative issues and share the stories of those making a difference. We want audience members to leave with ideas and information about how to better their personal and professional lives.
Good Morning SLO happens on the fourth Thursday of every month except November when it is on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

After decades of working behind the scenes to improve quality of life and reduce preventable death, our public health heroes were thrust into the epicenter of the greatest healthcare challenge of the modern era. Now that emergency protocols have lifted, Elizabeth Merson will share what it’s like to return to standard operations, where attention is currently directed and how these incredible leaders are doing.
The intricacies of local avocado growing, from market fluctuations to ideal growing conditions, are complex. Ahead of National Avocado Day on July 31, Daryn Miller will join us onstage from Villa Pacifica Ranch to share more about what growing avocados looks like in our county.
A NEW FACE IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
After spending the last ten years in city planning and community development for the City of Beverly Hills. When the County of San Luis Obispo selected a new supervisorial district map in the fall of 2020, a bi-partisan group came together to challenge it. In a time when people seem firmly entrenched on their political sides, we have a local example of people coming together and thinking of community first. Linda Seifert, SLO County Citizens for Good Government Director, will join us to share how they did it.
The SLO Symphony will celebrate the 40-year anniversary of Pops-by-the-Sea this September. A family-friendly tradition in Avila Beach, the event will Celebrate the Central Coast, and feature songwriter, musician and producer Damon Castillo will join us ahead of performing alongside the SLO Symphony Orchestra.
