Cuesta College and the HJ Miossi Gallery are happy to welcome and participate in a cultural drumming/singing event with three visiting Asmat artists from a remote region of New Guinea – two renowned carvers and a master singer and drummer. They bring with them their hand carved drums and will be demonstrating their drumming and ceremonial dances. Elaborately carved Asmat masks and costumes will also be on display. This is a free community event sponsored by Cuesta College’s HJ Miossi Gallery. It will be held on Tuesday July 26, from 6pm-8pm in the courtyard in front of the Miossi Gallery, with free parking directly in front of the CPAC in lot 2.
