Join the fun Thanksgiving morning by getting some exercise in with family and friends before the holiday meal, all while helping to raise money that will go to feed our neighbors in need.
Thanksgiving is a time when many of us have the opportunity to give thanks and share a special meal with family and friends. Unfortunately, for about 1 in 6 people in San Luis Obispo County there is hardly enough in their budget to buy basic necessities. These hard-working families and individuals might not be able to enjoy the simple pleasure of a traditional holiday meal – without you. The Food Bank’s Turkey Trot will help raise funds to ensure that everyone in San Luis Obispo County has access to nutritious food so that every family can enjoy a holiday meal.
If you are unable to attend the Food Bank’s Annual Turkey Trot at Avila Beach in person please donate directly on their website www.slofoodbank.org.
Event Details:
-2 mile walk and 5 mile run along the Bob Jones trail
-Check-in starts at 8:00am at the Avila Beach Promenade on the corner of Front St and San Francisco.
-No pre-registration is required but there is a suggested donation of $10
-A $25 donation will get you into the event and a free t-shirt
Additional Features at this year’s Turkey Trot at Avila Beach include a real live turkey (Gobble) who will greet all participants at the check-in booth, as well as event tees which will be sold while supplies last! Participants of all ages are encourages to dress up in Thanksgiving themed costumes!
