The Cal Poly Choirs’ Winter Concert, “All of Us,” is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, March 16, in the Performing Arts Center’s Christopher Cohan Center.

The concert theme is diversity and inclusion, and the program will include positive and uplifting musical selections. Works by J.S. Bach, Benjamin Britten, Moses Hogan, Jake Runestad, John Rutter and others will be performed. The concert will also include selections from the Tony Award winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen” and “The Greatest Showman,” the 2017 musical film.

The concert title is derived from the final movement, “All of Us,” from Craig Hella Johnson’s cantata, “Considering Matthew Shepard.” The work was composed on the 20th anniversary of the tragic death of Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. The combined choirs — PolyPhonics, University Singers, Chamber Choir and the Advanced Women’s Choir — will perform the work. This will be the premiere performance of the Advanced Women’s Choir, which is made up of 20 advanced treble singers who perform especially challenging repertoire for high voices.

In addition to musical selections, students from the Theatre and Dance Department will present a variety of monologues highlighting various social issues.

Director of Choral Activities Scott Glysson conducts the choirs, and Paul Woodring is the accompanist for the choirs.

A silent auction will be held in the lobby throughout the performance as a fundraiser for PolyPhonic, which will be making a spring tour of the Bay Area in March. The choir will give a concert at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption in San Francisco on March 24, and will perform at four high schools March 25-26. Audience members can bid before the concert, during intermission and after the concert on the items donated from local businesses.

Tickets to the concert are $12 or $14 for the public, and $9 or $12 for students. Event parking is sponsored by the PAC. Tickets are sold at the Cal Poly Ticket Office between noon and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To order by phone, call 805-SLO-4TIX (805-756-4849).
