Bach Week is devoted to the performance and exploration of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Events range from chamber music performed on period instruments to the collaborative performance of large vocal and instrumental works by students and professionals. Free demonstrations and lectures provide additional context for these performances.
Schedule of Events during Bach Week:
Jan. 21: Dr. Cock’s presentation “The Role of the Evangelist in Bach’s Passions” and a performance in the Evangelist in the Jan. 23-24 performances.
Jan. 21: Daniel Eifert’s vocal master class focusing on musical interpretation.
Jan. 22: Mensa Sonora California’s chamber concert “Bach and Sons” and a performance on modern instruments in the Jan. 23-24 concerts.
Jan. 23 and Jan. 24 cornerstone concerts, Bach in the Mission VI and Bach at Trinity, are complemented by events earlier in the week.
