Central Coast Follies Offers Free Dance Lessons in May!
Celebrating 20 consecutive years of entertaining audiences in the Central Coast
benefitting Parkinson’s Disease research — a variety of activities are planned:
- Choreographer Jason Sumabat is offering free jazz and tap classes five Sundays in May for children as well as family, guardians, and friends to come and have fun learning! Join him for tap class 2-2:45 PM and for jazz class 2:45-3:30 PM at Dellos Performing Arts Center in Pismo Beach. Wear clothes you can move in and comfortable shoes to dance in. Masks are worn at all times in the dance studio. Come to as many or all of the classes as you can. The movement is great exercise.
- The Choreographer will be casting children for the Fall/Winter show in May. For questions about dance classes or casting, please contact Karen Rasch, Assistant Director, at [email protected].
- Private vocal/piano/guitar lessons are scheduled according to availability and taught through Zoom currently, and will resume in person when Covid restrictions and parameters of transmission are lowered.
- Additional free, short performances will be held in the city of San Luis Obispo to showcase the Central Coast Follies’ talent. Dates, times and locations to be announced later.
- Watch for Central Coast Follies’ Fall/Winter 2022 Show “Follies Classics” (A Steampunk Adventure to Save the World of Entertainment) at the Clark Center in Arroyo Grande.

Central Coast Follies is a group of dedicated dancers and singers who volunteer their time and talents to produce an originally-themed Follies show each year to entertain our community. Since 2003, annual events have raised funds for Parkinson Alliance – for research to help those with Parkinson’s Disease and neurological symptoms. The 2022 goal is to donate $22,000, which will reach Central Coast Follies’ accumulated donation goal of $400,000! So much progress in treatments has been made in the past 20 years, and this group is proud to have helped make a difference.
