Change the Status Quo (CSQ) is an annual social justice conference hosted by the Center for Service in Action and Student Community Services every winter. The conference aims to challenge social norms to make lasting changes in our community and around the world. The mission of CSQ is to empower students to challenge stereotypes, demand solutions, and use education to make a lasting change. CSQ features over 20 workshops on a variety of issues presented by Cal Poly faculty, community members, non-profits, and Cal Poly students. The conference attempts to empower participants to make a difference in the world by taking small actions towards issues that they are passionate about. Simple acts such as volunteering once a week or simply being kind to one another, when added together, can make a huge difference. By deciding to take action in causes that we are passionate about, we can “Change the Status Quo.”
