Cal Poly Arts presents Grammy Award-winner Dan Zanes and Haitian-American jazz vocalist Claudia Eliaza in a spirited children’s musical concert that features traditional beloved songs as well as the children’s music of folk icon Lead Belly: Saturday, February 2, 2 p.m. in the Spanos Theatre. The concert is ideal for ages 3+ and child/student tickets are priced at 50% off.
Both artists are singers and musicians, performing on guitar, mandolin, harmonica, flute, trombone, and percussion.
The show will be highly interactive: the audience will be invited to sing along in what might be called a casual – and subversively educational – party atmosphere. The music, based in a variety of folk traditions, is homespun, sophisticated, and artful.
Eliaza’s background as a board-certified Music Therapist gives the entertaining duo additional ways to find meaningful connections with their art and audiences.
Student and Adult tickets: $18 & $36 respectively
