Concerts in the Plaza, presented by Sunset Honda and hosted by Downtown SLO, is the largest free concert series on the Central Coast.

Concerts will be held every Friday from June 24 – August 26 from 4:30 – 8:00 PM at Mission Plaza in Downtown San Luis Obispo.

All concerts are free to the public!

Brass Mash performs all your favorite tunes mashed into an energetic and infectious groove. With powerhouse instrumentals and a tight sound. The band consists entirely of horns, winds, and percussion to play a variety of music styles, creating the sound of everyone’s favorite party rock band with an authentic live stage presence. Known to bring any crowd to its feet, the Brass Mash style blends or “mashes” two or more songs at a time. These compositions cross both genres and decades, creating a live guessing game for audiences to ‘name that tune’. Britney Spears and Black Sabbath? Check. Lorde and Dr. Dre? Got that too.

Chris Beland is a multi-instrumentalist whose lyrics and sound are redolent of such artists as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Andrew Bird and Damien Jurado. As a solo act, he accompanies his soulful words with the seasoned strum of an acoustic guitar, wistful harmonica strains and the steady beat of his kick-drum keeping a rhythm that is both folk-rock and old-timey Americana.
