Program Overview
The City of San Luis Obispo’s Promotional Coordinating Committee (PCC), under direction of the City Council, recognizes that cultural, social and recreational organizations make significant contributions to the overall quality of life in the City of San Luis Obispo. Accordingly, the City sponsors a Grants-In-Aid (GIA) program to promote such activities within the community and through this program the City awards annual promotional grants totaling approximately $100,000 to various organizations each year.
During the fiscal year 2021-2022 applications will be accepted throughout the year on a monthly review basis similar to the modified program during 2020-21 in response to COVID-19. More information can be found below with modifications detailed. The 2021-2022 GIA program has two key differences:
- Grant awards are fixed at $4000 per application. This greater amount ($2500 previously) means that fewer total grants will be awarded while the total program disbursement ($100,000) will remain the same.
- In-person events are allowed so long as they remain consistent with State and County Health Guidance. Additionally virtual/hybrid events are still accepted in this year’s program.
