The Dunes Center Book club meets every six weeks to discuss nonfiction books.
The current selection is, A Crack in the edge of the World: America and the Great California Earthquake of 1906, Simon Winchester creates a first-person mélange of geology textbook and travelogue grafted onto a recounting of the events that destroyed San Francisco. It’s a journey across the North American plate, which encompasses not only North America but also part of the Atlantic Ocean, the western end of Eurasia, and Greenland.
