For nearly a decade, Craig Montgomery has been creating custom artisanal candy, a business that went viral on social media during the pandemic. Sticky’s unique hand sculpting yields candy with intricate designs and words — all smaller than a dime. Montgomery will offer insight into his confectionary journey, the international Sticky craze, and some exciting plans for the future.


GARDENING KIDS ARE HAPPY KIDS

In an era where screen time has taken over, helping youth unplug is more important than ever. Locally, One Cool Earth leads that charge through gardening-based health, academic, and wellbeing curriculum. Communications manager, Evie Kinkade, will share how nurturing a garden is impacting students across the Central Coast.


2021’S SECOND MOST IMPORTANT VACCINE

Every year around this time, reminders to get your flu vaccine seem to be everywhere. 2021 is no different and in fact, many physicians say it may be more important than ever. Marya Bolyanatz from Cottage Health will share how this influenza season is unlike any other and why you shouldn’t forgo your flu shot this year.


THE SLO SYMPHONY SHARES AN AMERICAN SHOWCASE

The SLO Symphony’s Executive Director Anna James Miller and principal bassist Ken Hustad will give us a preview of their November 13 performance, American Showcase — an upbeat repertoire led by local composer Stefan Podel.
