State of the Art Homeless Service Center Slated to Open in September
Friends of 40Prado invites the community to a fundraising celebration for completion of the homeless service center at 40 Prado Road. The $5.4 million facility is nearing competition and is expected to open September 1. In recognition of this landmark occasion, a grand opening celebration is being planned to honor the hundreds of people who generously donated to the construction costs.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 15, from 3 – 6 p.m.
“We are all extremely proud that our concept has become reality with the completion of 40 Prado”, said Roy Rawlings, co-chair of the Friends of 40Prado Board of Directors. “Our four-year effort to raise the needed funds represents the best of our compassionate community.”
Scott Yoo, Music Director at Festival Mozaic and Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Mexico City Philharmonic, will perform at the event. Local food merchants will serve tantalizing bites along with local wine selections.
The new 20,000 square foot building will combine services previously provided through two facilities, the Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter, and the Prado Day Center.
Tickets are $125 with all proceeds benefiting ongoing operational expenses of 40Prado.
