A community hike in the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Refuge is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9 am to 12:00 pm. This hike is sponsored by The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and will be led by Ray Segovia. The hike will begin at 9:00 AM (please plan to arrive between 8:45 and 9:00). It will be a casual/moderate walk through the dunes with some elevation gain of 300 ft, about 2.5-3 hours round-trip. We suggest you dress in layers and bring water and snacks. Closed shoes are recommended as the habitat is coastal dune scrub and there is the possibility of poison oak and ticks in the natural dune areas. For more information, email [email protected]. Heavy rain cancels this trip.
We will be limiting the number of people attending this hike and parking is limited, please register early! Heavy rain cancels this trip (light rain, bring appropriate clothing).
