The City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department invites community members to enjoy a new Spring Concert Series for free at the Historic Jack House and Gardens in downtown SLO on the first Sunday of May and June.
Join us as we kick off to spring with the first concert featuring Crustacea Band (jazz) on Sunday, May 1 from 1 to 4 p.m.
“We are excited to host this two-part concert series at the Historic Jack House and Gardens,” said City Recreation Coordinator Community Services Megan Risley. “The Jack House is a wonderful venue for outdoor music, and Crustacea and Wavebreakers bands are known for their entertaining shows. Everyone is welcome to join us at these family-friendly events to enjoy great music together.”
Concert admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring picnics and blankets. On-street parking is limited, so parking in nearby structures is suggested. During the concerts, trained docents will be offering tours of the Jack House for $5.
This concert series is being hosted by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, whose mission is to inspire happiness by creating community through people, parks, programs and open space.
The Historic Jack House and Gardens is a unique piece of California’s elegant and colorful past which will transport visitors back to the Victorian era. Located in the heart of San Luis Obispo’s downtown, within walking distance of Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, the Victorian-era house has been renovated and is a popular site for weddings and gatherings. The gardens on site are managed and maintained by the City of San Luis Obispo and tours are managed by the Jack House Committee.
