MLK DAY MOVIE AND DISCUSSION

Featured Movie: SHARED LEGACIES: THE AFRICAN AMERICAN JEWISH CIVIL RIGHTS ALLIANCE

Join Congregation Beth David’s Social Action and Adult Education committees for a lively discussion of the film Shared Legacies: The African American Jewish Civil Rights Alliance. Dr. Cornel Morton of the Diversity Coalition and Dr. Sari H. Dworkin from Beth David are facilitating the discussion, during which the film itself will NOT be shown. Although participants are not required to watch the film beforehand, those who do will find the discussion more meaningful. The film not only revisits the historical lesions of Black-Jewish cooperation but also includes an urgent call to action and thoughts on how we can move forward together for a better future.

The film is offered as part of the SLO Jewish Film Festival. Those who do not wish to purchase multi-film or all-inclusive festival passes may buy a single-film pass for $10.

This event is hosted via ZOOM.
