Your community newspaper brought to life.
Good Morning SLO is our platform for sharing ideas, news and inspiration. A monthly program that brings community leaders, business owners, nonprofit executives and staffers together, and enables us to reconnect, engage and learn from each other.
Our goal is to provide insight into business, community and legislative issues and share the stories of those making a difference. We want audience members to leave with ideas and information about how to better their personal and professional lives.
Good Morning SLO happens on the fourth Thursday of every month except November when it is on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
FEATURING
WEATHERING 20 YEARS OF STORMS
After more than two decades as the face of KSBY, Dave Hovde has hung up his raincoat and given his final weather forecast. Dave will join us onstage to reflect on his time with the station, tell us what’s next and share some of his best stories from his 22 years in local broadcast news.
FIRE SAFETY
The City of San Luis Obispo recently updated its fire hazard severity zones, and the updated map identifies more areas categorized as Very High, High and Moderate Fire Hazard Zones. Todd Tuggle, SLO City Fire Chief, will join us to share more about what this actually means for our city.
LITTLE BY LITTLE
The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art is gearing up to welcome a new immersive exhibit that will transform the Gray Wing into a vibrant landscape of color and texture. Trish Andersen, the artist behind the incoming show, will join us with a sneak peek of her work that will live at SLOMA all summer.
FAIR FUN
The California Mid-State Fair is almost here, and locals aren’t the only ones who know how great it is – this year, the fair was nominated for Fair/Rodeo of the Year by the Academy of Country Music Awards! Colleen Bojorquez, Mid-State Fair CEO, will share more about this nomination and this year’s fair happenings.
FESTIVAL MOZAIC
We’ll close out the morning with a special sneak peek as Rosewood & Honey previews their opening set for Indigenous folk duo Twin Flames at Festival Mozaic’s 2025 Summer Music Festival Concert at See Canyon Fruit Ranch on Sunday, July 20.
JETTING INTO THE FUTURE
The exciting partnership between Cuesta College and ACI Jet that brought the Aviation Technician Maintenance Certification program to San Luis Obispo is a few years in. Mike Wilson and Monica Millard are here from Cuesta to share about how the program is going, how many people have graduated with certification and what graduates are doing now.
