Rabobank Presents Arroyo Grande Summer Concert Series with a Zongo All Stars Dance Party

The 2017 Arroyo Grande Village Summer Concert Series kicks off with regional favorites the Zongo All-Stars on Sunday, June 11th. Join your friends at 1:00pm at the Rotary Bandstand in the Village of Arroyo Grande for this great dance show featuring infectious “CaliCubano” music. Activities during the day will spotlight the concert sponsor the Scott Astrosky Agency (Farmers Insurance) and the featured nonprofit organization the Arroyo Grande Recreation Children in Motion Program Program. The Arroyo Grande Village Summer Concert Series, now in its 12th Season, is known for presenting the most eclectic and diverse musical offerings of all the regional summer series. A fun raffle, food, drinks and free tours of historical buildings in Heritage Square Park are also always available. This free Series is presented by the Arroyo Grande Village Improvement Association and the City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department. Rabobank again joins these organizations as the Featured Series Sponsor.

Voted BEST LOCAL BAND in SLO County FOR 2 YEARS IN A ROW, the Zongo All-Stars have been lighting up dance floors all over the Central Coast with their unique blend of Afro-Latin / Afro-Caribbean / Funk / Reggae / Calypso music that they like to call “CaliCubano”. The band’s foundation starts with the drums; then add in congas, timbales, and other percussion. They round out the rhythm section with top talent on electric bass & electric guitar. Melodic elements come from a strong horn section, featuring trumpet, alto, tenor, and bari saxes, flutes, and the sweet sound of the steel drum transporting you straight to the Caribbean for a hot, fun, and exciting music & dance experience! The featured nonprofit organization for this concert is the Arroyo Grande Recreation Children in Motion Program Program. The Children’s Services programs serve children from preschool through 6th grade. Annual Children in Motion Programs include a Summer Day Camp at Elm Street Park as well as before and after school child care. This award winning program has a 30 year history of providing high quality childcare to local families. Details for all these programs are outlined in the Activity Guides which are printed several times a year and available at the AG City Hall and at the AG Recreation Services Department at 1221 Ash Street (at Elm St.) in Arroyo Grande.
