Coast-to-coast relay from Seattle to Tampa covers more than 4,600 miles with 70-plus teams to generate funding to enrich the lives of veterans and to unite the country around the symbolic American flag

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – (September 20, 2017) – Race SLO, California Central Coast’s leading endurance sports event producer, has announced its Founder & CEO Samantha Pruitt will run in two legs of the coast-to-coast Old Glory Relay that began in Seattle on September 11 and ends in Tampa, Fla. on Veterans Day, November 11. The 4th event edition organized by Team Red, White & Blue and presented by Microsoft includes more than 70 teams moving a single American flag covering 4,600-plus miles to honor and to raise awareness & funding for veterans as well as uniting the country during the flag’s epic journey.

“I am passionate to be supporting both Team RWB and our military veterans on their critical support mission as well as deeply honored to carry our American flag as it passes through the Central Coast,” said Samantha Pruitt, Race SLO Founder & CEO. “We are beyond proud that Race SLO has also partnered with the California Military Department to produce a new Spring race, the 2018 Warrior Trail Run Adventure, and our California Warrior Ambassador, Staff Sergeant Carl Trujillo, will also be running in the Old Glory Relay, carrying our California state flag across San Francisco on Friday, September 22.”

On Monday, September 25, Pruitt and several local #CaliforniaWarrior Ambassadors, carrying both the American and California state flags, will run portions of Relay Leg 15 from Paso Robles to San Luis Obispo (finishing the run downtown along Monterey Street to Mission Plaza at 2:45pm). Alongside the Team RWB San Luis Obispo County local chapter, they start again at Mission Plaza on 7:00am, Tuesday morning, September 26, and will run and then bike Relay Leg 16 with the two flags from San Luis Obispo to Santa Ynez. Local residents are encouraged to come out and show their support along the way or at the Monday 2:45pm finish and Tuesday 7:00am start both in Mission Plaza.

In addition, people can donate to the Old Glory Relay (OGR) and Pruitt’s participation via the virtual option any day between 9/11 and 11/11 from anywhere and receive the official OGR Shirt and Coin.
