Originally slated for April 2020, the San Luis Obispo Master Chorale’s 2022/2023 season kicks off with the long-anticipated “The French Connection” performance on November 20, 2022, featuring the peaceful Requiem by Gabriel Fauré and the spirited Gloria by Francis Poulenc. In addition, Fauré’s elegant, well-known Pavane will separate the two larger works.
Requiem and Pavane represent two of the most enduring of Gabriel Fauré’s works. Francis Poulenc’s reverential Gloria reveals in Poulenc’s words, “the best and most genuine part of myself.” This concert features more than 100 voices accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. The Master Chorale and orchestra is conducted by Thomas Davies and features soloists Amy Goymerac, soprano, and baritone Ben Kazez.
“The French Connection” will be held in Harold Miossi Hall at the San Luis Obispo Performing Arts Center on the Cal Poly campus. Tickets are available at www.slomasterchorale.org or by calling the PAC box office at 805-756-4849
