The San Luis Obispo Blues Society presents the Irene Cathaway Rhythm and Blues Band.

Doors open at 7:00 PM and music starts at 7:30 PM. The Irene Cathaway Rhythm and Blues Band is led by one of the most extraordinary singers you have ever heard. Irene has been singing blues and old-style R&B for most of her life. Her level of quality, personal authenticity and no-nonsense soulful performance is always a surprise to every audience that hears her for the first time.

Irene’s singing is strikingly unaffected and warm even when she is singing the earthiest blues or the most stinging soul music. Backed by a trio of guitar (Dorian Michael), bass (Ken Hustad) and drums (Paul Griffith), this band delivers, giving the music a wide-open framework allowing for musical surprises every time they play together. So get ready for plenty of danceable music.
