LANDSCAPING FOR RENTERS
WITH UC MASTER GARDENER, MICHELE YOCKEY
Do you love the idea of a beautiful home garden, but cautious to start because you rent your living space? Are your outdoor living spaces confined to a patio? Learn how to make the most of your space from UC Master Gardener Michele Yockey as you explore all about container gardening! Join us at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden on Saturday, October 5 from 1 PM to 2 PM as Michele shares tips for growing a lush container garden. She’ll discuss vegetables and dwarf trees for containers, designing and maintaining potted plants, plants for sun vs. shade, which soils are best, when and if to fertilize, and easy succulent gardeners. Presentation is followed at 2PM by a free docent-led tour of the SLO Botanical Garden.
This presentation is a part of the UC Master Gardeners’ Advice to Grow By SLO County Home Gardeners Series at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden. Visit slobg.org or email [email protected] for information on additional dates and topics. Suggested donation $5 for members/$10 non-members.
Michele Yockey has gardened for forty years. Michele moved to the central coast in 2006, where her gardening transitioned from clay soil to sandy soil. Her desire for more gardening information led her to become a Master Gardener. Through experimentation and education, Michele has transformed her own landscape into a beautiful and lush landscape filled with Proteas, Grevilleas, lavenders, seasonal flowers, succulents, and a variety of trees and bushes.
