There is a lot to learn when it comes to irrigating your landscape plants. Where are you located? What is your soil like? What kind of plants do you have? Join us at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden on Saturday, March 23 from 1 PM to 2 PM to learn more about assessing your irrigation needs, and how to apply the correct amount of water, so you can enjoy a happy and healthy yard.

Followed at 2pm by a FREE Docent-Led tour of the SLO Botanical Garden.

William (Bill) Smillie was in the landscape and irrigation industry for over forty years. Beginning as a gardener while at Pierce College, he then became a landscape contractor in Santa Barbara for ten years. After moving to the Central Coast and acquiring certifications from the Irrigation Association, he became an irrigation design and management consultant. During this period, he was also a part time instructor for the ITRC at Cal-Poly and the Irrigation Association. In 1998, he took a position as national sales and training manager for the Rain Master Corporation specializing in computer-controlled irrigation management systems. Retiring in 2012, he became a UCCE Master Gardener.

Suggested donation $5 for members/$10 non-members. Presentation followed by a free docent-led tour in the Garden at 2 PM. For more information call 805.541.1400×304 or education@slobg.org.
