Visit the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm to experience the textural floral collection of this beautiful original artwork.

Artist Perez Salazar draws inspiration for the bounty and beauty of nature. He states about his oversized paintings, “Flower blossoms have been the promise before the fruit. It is nature’s way of announcing its unfolding power to create and to deliver future nourishment … flowers have done so for thousands of years. The diversity and large amounts of blossoms fill and overflow the formal ground to the max, producing heighten feelings of positive human emotions of plenitude and abundance.”

Immerse yourself in these splendid paintings at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden. All pieces are for sale, and proceeds benefit the Garden.

Juan Manuel Perez Salazar resides on the central coast, where he is an avid artist and gardener. His work has been displayed in, Mexico, India, and throughout California. His studio practice explores boundaries of painting and sculpture, crossing and transposing various modes of styles in search of his own images. The experiential and cultural associations of specific subjects and materials fuels his exploration. Inspired by the symbolism and beauty of the natural world, he utilizes blossoms to seduce the observer to take pleasure in watching flowers bloom. Inspired to compose what he gather with his senses in the garden; he often cuts his own flowers to serve as models.
