On May 29, 2018, the California Air Resources Board will be providing a FREE Compliance Overview course at the SLO Vet’s Hall. The overview will cover the State’s Truck and Bus Rule, Off-Road Regulation, and Portable Equipment. As part of this training, the SLO County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) will also provide information on the over $1.6 million dollars in recently authorized grant funding available for the community, local businesses, and agencies. About $600,000 of these grant funds will help fund electric and alternative fuel replacements of school and transit buses and on-road trucks primarily serving SLO County low-income communities. There is also over $900,000 available to help local agricultural operations replace old tractors, trucks, and irrigation engines with clean diesel and electric units. The APCD will also summarize anticipated 2019 funding that will be available for truck, construction, and agricultural projects.
