Globally, each year the third Saturday of September is known as “Coastal Cleanup Day”. ECOSLO has been the SLO County coordinator for this data-driven cleanup for the past 15 years, engaging over 1,000 volunteers in our community who pick up and remove thousands of pounds of trash from our beautiful coastline.

This year, ECOSLO has partnered with the organizers of the local “Creek Day” event to merge these two wonderful volunteer events together as SLO County Creeks to Coast Cleanup, taking place this year on Saturday, September 21st starting at 9AM.

Our goal is to bring awareness that it is important that we not only pick up trash wherever we may find it (inland or coastal), but that we also find ways to reduce our consumption of harmful products that have damaging effects on our environment. Trash in our creeks, rivers, lakes, and coastline brings challenging impacts wildlife, water quality, and our natural environment overall.

You can help out by participating at one of these data-driven cleanups on September 21st – there are nearly 50 locations to choose from!

We hope you will join at a cleanup location near you. To see a list of cleanup check-in sites and if you’d like to pre-register, please visit: http://bit.ly/volunteer-c2c-2019
