SLO Overdose Awareness Day is a FREE event held each year on the last Saturday in August at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo. This annual event for learning and remembrance is for anyone affected by overdose or substance use and for those who wish to learn more about the issue. Severval local agencies will be attendance, with many offering free trainings in using naloxone, the overdose reversal drug, and offer it free to participants. The evening will close with a candle-lighting ceremony presented by Hospice of SLO County.
