SLO REP Theatre presents It’s a Wonderful Life – A Live Radio Play

SLO Repertory Theatre will reopen its doors with a special staged reading for the holidays: IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE – A LIVE RADIO PLAY!

San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre will open its doors once again this December with a special holiday gift for our community: IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE – A LIVE RADIO PLAY! Frank Capra’s beloved holiday movie classic comes to life in this delightful staged reading. Adapted to be performed as a 1940s radio broadcast, complete with live Foley sound effects and featuring just a handful of actors playing dozens of roles, the story of beleaguered building and loan owner George Bailey and his affable helper angel, Clarence unfolds one fateful Christmas Eve as you’ve never seen it before. Bring the whole family to rediscover this Christmas classic!

IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE – A LIVE RADIO PLAY! runs December 10-18 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 pm and Saturdays at 2 pm. SLO REP is located at 888 Morro Street in downtown San Luis Obispo. Ticket prices range from $20-$25 and are available at www.slorep.org or by calling (805) 786-2440.

ABOUT THE SHOW
This staged reading will feature some very familiar faces, including SLO REP long-time staff Kevin Harris, Kerry DiMaggio, Suzy Newman, Patty Thayer, Dave Linfield and Allison Rajcevic. Special guest artists Michael Siebrass and Tom Ammon will also join the fun, taking on the roles of miserly curmudgeon Henry F. Potter and wingless angel Clarence. This is a labor of love for SLO REP staff, bringing a little holiday cheer to our community after a very long dry spell. There are only six performances planned for December but keep an eye out for more good news soon about SLO REP’s 2022 Winter/Spring “Mini-Season.”

 

HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION
Protecting the health and safety of our audience, actors, volunteers and staff is of the utmost importance to all of us at SLO REP. Please note that SLO REP will be reopening at full capacity with several new safety measures in place including the following:
• Patrons must present proof of vaccination (vaccination card, photo of card, or a digital vaccine record) along with matching photo ID before entering the theatre.
• Patrons who are exempt from COVID-19 vaccinations, due to medical reasons, sincerely held religious beliefs, or whose age does not permit, must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test (taken within 72 hours prior to entering the building) along with matching photo ID at the door. (For a list of testing locations, please go to https://www.emergencyslo.org/en/should-i-be-tested.aspx)
• Masks, covering nose and mouth, must be worn at all times in the theatre, except when actively eating or drinking in designated areas.
