Softec, the Central Coast’s premier software and technology association, invites you and your kids to celebrate our 11th Annual Student Robotics EXPO.
On Monday, September 30 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Alex Madonna Inn Expo Center our world renown local high school robotics clubs will demonstrate their competitive robots from F.I.R.S.T & VEX EDR. Also, this spectacular event features junior high and elementary robotics teams who use educational robotic leagues VEX IQ & FIRST® LEGO® League to advance STEM in schools!
Meet local organization who continue to support Robotics and Technology in education including: The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) & Cal Poly Robotics club, SLO Makerspace, and Cuesta College and the 4-H Club of SLO.
Enjoy interactive stations for hands on experience with drones, robots, Virtual Reality, and other special activities. We also have a special visit from SLO County Sheriff Bomb Squad; they will be demonstrating the capabilities of their bomb handling robot.
Our partner, SESLOC Federal Credit Union, is our title sponsor to help make the event be a truly community focused event.
Thanks to all of our generous corporate sponsors, we will be distributing over $13,000 in scholarships to student clubs at the event. Softec has sponsored high school robotics teams since 2004 giving more than $75,000 of grants to date. We strongly believe that this event helps excite young minds about the technology industry.
Our Drone Arena with obstacle course is sponsored by Digital West and is sure to provide additional thrills. Race your drone through the course and compete for the best time!
Electric Vehicles will be on display in the top parking lot. If you have an EV, bring it and you will be able to park in this lot as well.
Come hungry! You may purchase food from Ta-Dahh Specialty Foods (Kid & Family Friendly food at reasonable prices) at the main entrance to the Expo Center during the event. Food service will begin at 5:00pm.
This event and parking are free. All ages are welcome to discover and participate. We are expecting to exceed last year’s attendance of 800 attendees.
