The Bald Spots, a popular local doo-wop group, will perform their unique mix of ’50s and ’60s American music with a mix of humor in a fundraising concert at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 16, at 4 p.m. Proceeds will support Green Pastures, a church ministry that provides mini-grants to local residents in need of temporary assistance. A free-will offering will be taken. Popcorn and beverages will be available.
The Bald Spots have been entertaining local and international audiences for over 25 years with tight street-corner doo-wop harmonies and their signature offbeat humor. In addition to frequent local performances, the group has taken their act abroad — singing on the streets of Venice, in an Austrian castle, and across the Czech Republic, Canada, Argentina, and Uruguay, where they were featured at the U.S. Ambassador’s annual Fourth of July celebration.
