The SLO Chamber’s Green Business Symposium is a forum to present, discuss and learn about best practices related to energy and resource conservation, environmental performance, and eco-friendly operational systems. The program provides a platform for speakers to share and a panel for attendees to learn.

This year’s speakers and panelists include:

Ron Cogan Head Shot for Bio 150 FROM ELECTRIC TO SELF DRIVING, TRENDS IN NEW CAR TECH
 A former Motor Trend feature editor and current editor and publisher of the Green Car Journal, Ron Cogan has been instrumental in    producing the Green Car Summit on Capitol Hill along with many other major shows and conferences. With 35 years of industry experience  Cogan will focus on trends in new car technologies including self-driving and electric vehicles, alternative fuels and consumer trends in  environmental performance.
William Toman 1501 CREATING ENERGY FROM WAVES
 For the past decade, William Toman has been at the forefront of wave energy technology and is currently leading the CalWave program  through the Institute for Advanced Technology & Public Policy. By harnessing the renewable power of waves to produce electricity, CalWave  may provide a solution to utilize the huge untapped resource of ocean wave power. Toman will share in-depth information about the project  and the potential to extend the test program in along California’s coastline.
Matthew Woods-150 HOW CLIMATE CHANGE IS INFLUENCING LOCAL GOVERNMENTS
 The market for residential solar is growing at a rapid rate and for the last four years Matthew Woods has been at the center of this movement  while serving as the senior vice president of partners at Sunrun, the largest residential solar company in the US. He will share trends in the solar  market and how cities across the nation are working towards the goals set forth atthe United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Paris  last year.
