The Movement Arts Collective presents Ryan Lawrence’s Coppélia
The Movement Arts Collective is excited to present Ryan Lawrence’s adaptation of the classic ballet, Coppélia. In this brand new version, Dr. Coppelius is a Science teacher at an all girls school who enlists two students to help with her latest experiment, creating the “perfect girl.” While utilizing the classical score by Delibes, the setting and plot are updated to reflect not only Lawrence’s contemporary vision, but a world where friendship trumps rivalry, differences are celebrated not scorned, and the path to become alive lies in being one’s truest self.
