Tour Cal Poly’s New Campus Housing Construction

Cal Poly is giving the community a firsthand look at their new modular dorm housing project. Attendees will have the chance to learn about this innovative construction and how it can help meet housing needs in San Luis Obispo County. 

No registration is required for this event on Tuesday, May 12. However, those who wish to tour the construction site should come prepared. Guided tours will depart at 3:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. For your safety, participants must wear full-length pants (no shorts or dresses) and sturdy, closed-toe shoes (no sandals or canvas athletic shoes) to meet site safety requirements. Cal Poly will provide hard hats, safety vests, and safety glasses.

This session gives a preview to this Friday’s Insight Studio tour of Volumetric Building Companies’ factory in Tracy, California, on May 15, where you will see how they make this modular construction possible.
