usa pentathlon national qualifier at cal poly
For two days in January, elite athletes from across the nation will descend upon San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly to compete for a coveted spot on the 2020 Team USA. The Cal Poly national qualifying event will pit nearly 50 competitors against each other and the five events of the modern pentathlon for their chance to represent the country.
The Jan. 18 and 19 events hosted by Cal Poly are the second of two national qualifiers and will offer the opportunity to watch world-class athletes compete in fencing, swimming, horse riding, and laser Run (laser shooting and run). Women compete on Saturday and men on Sunday. Of the 50 competitors, four women, and four men will be named to Team USA.
