All Epicureans once again have reason to be jubilant as the Friends of Prado Day Center prepare for the Fifth Annual Culinary Carnival.
It will be held on Feb. 24, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo Embassy Suites Hotel. The event will surprise with culinary delights carefully prepared by local celebrity chefs and restaurants, paired with an array of local wines and beers. The festivities include a silent auction with fabulous items donated by local businesses. There will also be a live auction featuring incredible dinners, guest stays and other fun venues. Tickets for the event are $50.
Now in its fifth year, the carnival is the Friends of Prado Day Center’s largest fundraising event, with all proceeds going to support the daily operation of the Day Center.
Since 1997, the Prado Day Center has provided essential day-to-day services for homeless members of our community, including families with children, single women and veterans. The People’s Kitchen serves meals. Showers, laundry facilities, a children’s room, use of telephone and mail service are a number of the vital services that are available. Case managers work with clients to help achieve self-sufficiency by helping those seeking employment, housing and enriching activities for the children.
