The Foundation for the Performing Arts Center will hold a Benefit Luncheon and Concert on Sunday, Mar. 10, 2013 at the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo.  The tribute will honor Jim Jamieson and the Foundation’s partnership with the City of San Luis Obispo and California Polytechnic State University.
The afternoon will begin with a 1 pm Luncheon on the plaza.  At 3 pm guests will be invited into Harman Hall for the West-coast debut of New York’s electrifying conductor-less string ensemble, Salomé Chamber Ensemble.  Salomé will perform selections from Astor Piazzolla, Giuseppe Verdi, George Gershwin and Antonio Vivaldi.  The concert will feature violist David Aaron Carpenter.
The Foundation will honor Jim Jamieson for his role in helping to achieve the first goal of the Foundation, the creation of the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo.  The Foundation will also be honoring its partners the City of San Luis Obispo and California Polytechnic State University.  The partners joined to bring the PAC into existence, and today collaborate to provide and promote an extraordinary and accessible center for the performing arts that will continue to elevate the arts in our community.
“It is a pleasure to serve as chair for such a high caliber event in celebration of Jim’s contributions to our community’s quality of life and the partnership that keeps the PAC extraordinary,” Sandy Dunn, event chair, commented. “It is only fitting that we have brought some of New York’s finest musicians to perform in the hall to celebrate the partnership that created it.”
Seating for the luncheon will be limited.  For more information visit www.fpacslo.org or call the Foundation at (805) 541-5401.
All proceeds from this event will help the Foundation continue to keep the PAC state-of-the-art, affordable to local performing arts groups and accessible to K-12 students.
A special thank you to Sandy Dunn, Event Chair, and Honorary Chairs: Sharon and Jeffrey Armstrong, Carly and Warren Baker, Lyn and Jim Baker, Mayor Jan Marx, and Carol and Warren Sinsheimer.
