French Hospital Medical Center, a member of the Dignity Health system which also includes Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and Marian Regional Medical Center, is pleased to announce that Carla Adams has been named as the hospital’s first chief operating officer/chief nurse executive.
As chief operating officer/chief nurse executive, Adams will serve as a key member of the hospital leadership team and will assume responsibility for all patient care operations and professional services at French Hospital Medical Center. She will also be instrumental in developing new clinical approaches as the hospital continues in its modernization efforts and the expansion of cardiac and women’s services programs.
Adams earned a BSN degree from Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA; as well as a MSN degree from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. She has 24 years of clinical operations leadership experience in acute hospital settings.
Adams has experience in both for profit and nonprofit hospitals. In a past position she helped lead the installation of her hospital’s electronic health record. Most recently she has been serving as the chief nurse officer, VP clinical services for Universal Health Services, Northern Nevada Medical Center, Sparks, NV.
