Heritage Oaks Bank recently donated $7,330 to Jack’s Helping Hand from funds raised by the 15th annual Fun Day and Fun Run in September 2013.
The annual event supports local nonprofit organizations while also providing athletic events and a fun expo for the entire family that includes food, games and music in the Paso Robles City Park. All race entries in 2013 were donated to Jack’s Helping Hand, the Paso Robles Public Library Foundation, and CASA of San Luis Obispo County.
“Heritage Oaks Bank celebrated 30 years of service to the Central Coast and this annual event is a reflection on how much this community bank cares about the families and children here in San Luis Obispo County,” said Jack’s Helping Hand Co-founder Bridget Ready. “We’re so grateful for Heritage Oaks Bank’s continued support.”
This year, more than 1,000 people participated in the event, including 550 runners, raising more than $22,000 for the event’s beneficiaries. Celebrating its 15th year, the Fun Run race results can be found at www.hobfunrun.com. Each nonprofit organization received one-third of the proceeds from the event.
Jack’s Helping Hand provides community programs and support to families in San Luis Obispo County of children with special needs, whether they are mental, physical or medical needs. When local families have nowhere else to turn, they turn to Jack’s Helping Hand.
As a way to support community nonprofit organizations like Jack’s Helping Hand, Heritage Oaks Bank embarked on a journey 15 years ago to bring a fun-filled, family-oriented event to the Central Coast. It has since evolved into the Fun Day and Fun Run featuring10K and 5K races.
