Hospice of San Luis Obispo County, a local provider of community education and volunteer hospice services for the past 35 years has announced two trainings scheduled. 
Beginning Feb. 21, Hospice of San Luis Obispo County will be offering training to all who are interested in learning about hospice concepts of terminal or life-threatening illness, grief, and quality of life. This inclusive 30-hour training covers communication skills, hospice history and philosophy, cultural and spiritual issues and information on increasing quality of life throughout the lifespan. 
The trainings are offered at two Hospice SLO locations:
San Luis Obispo
1304 Pacific Street
Thursday evenings, 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Feb. 21, 28, March 7, 14, 21, 28
Paso Robles
811 12th Street
Tuesday evenings, 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Feb. 26, March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2
This training is required for the in-home and vigil volunteer programs at Hospice SLO, but is also an invaluable opportunity for meaningful personal growth and education. A $30.00 fee covers the cost of the manual. Space is limited. Please call (805) 544-2266 to sign up.
