Bob Rothermel, Knights of Columbus trustee, hand-delivered the donation to PathPoint Vice President and Division Director Aline Graham. PathPoint President/CEO Cindy Burton praised the Knights for “helping PathPoint to carry out its mission to an underserved population.” She continued, “Our valuable long-term partnerships help individuals with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities become connected to the community.”

The San Luis Obispo County Division of PathPoint serves more than 380 individuals with special needs annually through its employment, residential and community access programs. The philosophy of PathPoint is that all individuals need meaningful activities and social interaction in meaningful environments, regardless of their developmental disability, physical challenges or concurrent medical conditions. Stimulation, meaningful activity and safe equipment are key components for the success of PathPoint programs. PathPoint’s partnership with the Knights of Columbus will help people with disabilities integrate into the community and reach their full potential.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014, PathPoint looks forward to continuing its collaborations with employers, public agencies and community-based organizations to ensure that individuals with disabilities and disadvantages are supported on their paths to independence.
