Free your mind and follow your heart to a healthier you, at the final lecture of a three-part series offered by Dignity Health of the Central Coast and the San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens.

The first two lectures, of Nurture your Health: Planting the Seeds of Prevention for Women’s Health, explored the mind-body connection and how it might be utilized to prevent or relieve symptoms of some conditions and diseases, including hormone imbalance and the prevention of cancer.

The final lecture – which is free and open to the community – features award winning author, producer and actress Mara Purl. A national bestseller of women’s fiction and the pen behind the Milford-Haven series, she’ll offer insight into “What the Heart Knows”; it isn’t only the title of her popular book with a central coast setting, but also a way of leading a happy, fulfilling and productive life. A book signing will follow at the end of the lecture.

Cardiologists Lorianna Fletcher, M.D. and Andrea Tackett, M.D., will be sharing ways to prevent cardiovascular disease.
