LIFTOFF Digital, a local Web Development company of nearly 15 years, was recently purchased by one of its first employees. In September 2019 Mike Wiemholt, VP of Operations at the time, purchased sole ownership of the company from the previous owner Forrest Hatfield.
Formerly making up half the staff of ITECH Solutions, the web development team specifically split from ITECH in 2016 to rebrand around their Web Development services as “LIFTOFF Digital”. An employee since the establishment of ITECH in 2005, Mike takes the reigns of a company he is very familiar with.
As Forrest began to focus on managing a partner company he chose to step out of his role as owner of LIFTOFF selling the company to Mike.
“He left big shoes to fill for sure”, Mike said of Forrest, “fortunately we’ve been friends since before starting the company, so we still keep in touch”.
With the major transitional elements behind them, LIFTOFF is now re-focusing their efforts on the local community.
“Obviously we are a for-profit business,” Mike explained, “but we also enjoy helping people out in many other ways. Sometimes that is simply consulting or providing some services to those in need for little or even no cost when possible”.
