Monarch Dunes Golf Course & Grille is pleased to announce its recent hiring of Rene Sifuentez Jr., who will be joining the Monarch Dunes team as Food and Beverage Director. Within this role, Sifuentez will be responsible for Butterfly Grille’s full-service restaurant, open for breakfast and lunch daily, bar and banquet/wedding catering services.

Sifuentez comes to Monarch Dunes with 24 years of experience in all facets of the food service in-dustry. Most recently, Sifuentez was the Food and Beverage Director at Montecito Country Club in Santa Barbara, California. While there, he led his team with creative and traditional menus, extensive services for member and non-member banquets, weddings and special events. Sifuentez was also able to raise standards and provide detailed and consistent execution.

In addition to Sifuentez’s managerial accomplishments, he has proven himself as an executive chef for over 2 decades. With this experience, he will bring a professional twist to Butterfly Grille’s already established reputation. Sifuentez’s return to the area is a homecoming from the late 90’s as the Executive Chef at the Far Western Tavern in Guadalupe. He also held similar positions with respected organizations in Santa Maria before leaving the area in 2006.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Rene to our team,” says Monarch Dunes General Manager Jensen Lardizabal. “He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership to our organization that will allow us to further develop our food and beverage operations and capitalize on an under-served area of our community. He will support the effort of expanding our catering capabilities from tournament and in-house banquets to weddings and off-site events. Rene will also be involved in the remodel of the kitchen, dining room, and bar area in the very near future, which will provide even further operational flexibility. Simply, Sifuentez will provide an enhanced level of productivity, efficiency, and a consistent experience to our clients at the Butterfly Grille.”
