Every January, over 450 birders visit Morro Bay, a national bird sanctuary and globally unique bird area, to see, photograph, and learn more about birds. The unique Morro Bay habitat shelters hundreds of species and over 200 species are usually sighted during the festival weekend.

Family day begins at 9 a.m. on Jan. 19 at the Museum of Natural History and is free for kids, $3 per adult. There will be an opening reception, featuring bird displays, vendors, and refreshments on Jan. 18.
