Several new businesses are getting ready to open their doors in downtown San Luis Obispo. Fromagerie Sophie, a cheese shop specializing in international and regional cheeses, specialty cured meats and local and international wine, plans to open in late June at 1129 B Garden St. The shop will have a small sitting area and offer cheese plates, tastings and cheese for sale. Dry, a blow dry bar, is set to open by the end of June at 790 A Marsh St next to Eureka!. Owned by Carlos Sosa of Fierro Hair Salon in the Laguna Village Shopping Center, the salon claims it will be the first blow dry bar in SLO, a concept that has become popular in larger cities. Further up the street at The Mix at Monterey, a new taco shop is set to open next door to the recently relocated Jaffa Caffe. Taqueria Santa Cruz is a family owned and operated restaurant that has been serving authentic Mexican food in Santa Cruz for more than 20 years. Their location at 1308 Monterey St. will be their third location.
