Serra Meadows, the highly anticipated new housing development on Prado Road just east of Higuera Street – and the first significant neighborhood in the city in 13 years – is moving into production. The developer, Mangano Homes, has pulled permits for the first 13 homes of the 177 that are planned and construction work is set to begin this month with delivery planned for December. The sales office for the project is expected to open in August. With more than 750 names currently on the waiting list, outreach will begin with those who have already expressed interest. It is understood that potential buyers will need to be prequalified and will be accepted on a first come-first served basis on the opening sales day to select lots and styles. The development is expected to reflect several early California housing styles including Craftsman, Bungalow and Spanish, and buyers will have eight different floor plans to choose from priced in the $520,000-$650,000 range.
