The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance unveiled a new online campaign on Pasowine.com focusing on a different wine grape variety each month. In 2013, twelve wine varieties will be explored through new Paso Wine Man videos, grower blog posts, winemaker interviews, and specially crafted recipes from local restaurants to pair with the wine of the month.

January’s content, featuring Mourvèdre, is now available as the example of what is to come throughout 2013. Today, Syrah takes its place as February’s Varietal of the Month. Syrah’s Paso Wine Man video, currently available on Pasowine.com, likens the wine grape’s easy reputation for growth and vinification to a sultry Tango dance. Upcoming weeks showcase a grower blog from Eberle Winery, Terry Hoage of Terry Hoage Vineyards interviewed by The KRUSH 92.5, and a recipe from Roberts Restaurant.

“We are excited to offer new and interesting content to our online audience that showcases the diversity of our region,” said Jennifer Porter, executive director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. “In Paso Robles’ typical irreverent and approachable style, we want to educate visitors about the unique characteristics in every bottle of Paso Robles wine, while helping them explore wines that may be a bit unfamiliar to the average wine drinker.”

The months following include: Zinfandel in March, Cabernet Sauvignon in April, Viognier in May, Pinot Noir in June, Grenache Blanc in July, Sauvignon Blanc in August, Grenache in September, Petite Sirah in October, Roussanne in November and Merlot in December. Months with five weeks will feature special surprise content.
