Townsend, Phil 200Barnett Cox & Associates (BCA) has added a writer talented across traditional and new media platforms to help grow the public relations and marketing firm’s content management business. Phillip Townsend is a Central Valley native who moved to the Central Coast to be part of the area’s fast-growing online industry. In his new role at BCA, Townsend will be responsible for developing the content and creative direction needed for a wide range of projects.

Prior to joining BCA, Townsend built a resume that includes posts at Southern California companies Pioneer Electronics and Tilly’s and Central Coast firms Den-Mat, SmileSimplicity, Remnants of the Past, and Etna Interactive.

According to BCA COO Dave Cox, Townsend is an ideal fit in his newest position. “Technology has sweepingly changed the way we communicate,” Cox said, “but one thing has not changed: all great work still begins with solid ideas and impeccable words. Phillip delivers both to us.”

Cox said that Townsend offers the perfect combination of ability and experience that include hands-on work with in SEO, blogging and other online tools and a proven ability in creating award winning marketing copy for use in traditional applications.

“This is like a dream come true for me,” says Townsend. “I work with a team of talented PR, marketing and graphic design professionals, all of whom have made me feel very welcome. I have the opportunity to develop tactics for a variety of clients across many industries and play a part in changing the community and the world, and I am able to live on the beautiful Central Coast.”

Cox added that the newest staff writer joins at an ideal time for BCA. “We are delighted to see business once again growing. There’s optimism and excitement and pent-up demand, and we are delighted to have the bench strength to capture it. Townsend joins BCA creative development team members Susan McDonald and Jim DeYong, along with designers Aaron Cotton and Emily Hsiao in providing direction and content development for BCA.

“This Halloween marks our 24th year in business,” said Cox, “and it is gratifying to celebrate a milestone like that with even greater anticipation for what lies ahead. Our creative team continues to produce spectacular work, and now with Phillip’s help, I can only imagine what the next twelve months will deliver,” he said.
