On Thursday, June 20th, 2019, we hosted a panel of political leaders in the SLO community who shared their experiences, inspiration and challenges of holding elected office as well as thoughts on the future. Our panel included SLO County Supervisior Lynn Compton, Atascadero Mayor Heather Moreno, Grover Beach Mayor Pro Tem Mariam Shah, and SLO City Council Member Erica A. Stewart The panel discussion was moderated by Christine Robertson, Executive Director of the new San Luis Coastal Education Foundation. Through their candid responses, the elected officials offered powerful insights on why it’s so crucial to have more women in politics and how we all can get involved in making that happen.
