Rotary is an international organization of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace. There are more than 1.2 million Rotary members, who are part of more than 34,000 chapters worldwide. The Rotary International theme for 2014-2015, under President Gary Huang, is “Light up Rotary.” Huang, who is a member of the Rotary Club of Taipei in Taiwan, believes that together Rotarians can light up the world. The theme is inspired by Confucius who once said “It is better to light a single candle, than to sit and curse the darkness.”
